Deleting this journal now. Also, discontinuing use of my WLM account for another. I'll add active accounts only as neighbors on my new account. Some of you have already been marked as neighbor on the other account and I'm waiting for you to reciprocate the action.
Splitting up blogs.
Made one specifically for Arima and will either clean this one up or make a new one for Oruha.
Ask for details.
Not feeling well is inspiring me to do something necessary: Get in bed.
Although I didn't get much reading done myself, Rini has had her nose in books (and her butt in jeans) since I got back. Fall came early this year (in real life) and she is pretty influenced by that (hello jeans, long skirts and sweaters).
Home!
Flight from Florida got in twenty minutes ahead of schedule, driving across town took us under an hour and here we are!
So hungry though! We're headed out for a massive fajita dinner and will be back after!
- Running tests and checks on Red Dawn Server.
- Downloading Blue Mars, got my beta key finally.
- Waiting to hear back from Lolotte on picking her up.
One of my favorite places to sit, the lake. The view from it and the sounds are usually enough to calm me out of my worst moods.
The oak tree is fairly special to our parcel. We mostly have Aboreas over head, with one mossy tree and the rest Oels. But in the Garden of Everything we have three oaks, two of which shade this cute little bench from Y's house (the other is a part of the playground and has a pose engine in it).
Through the double doors, which are a part of a more recent house from the same maker, and into the downstairs living area. When we previously used this house we jam packed it with chairs, love seats and couches on both floors. This time we decided to leave the downstairs slightly empty (we're still looking for the right double seater to go in that window nook) since it is the busiest area of the house in terms of walking as there are five rooms on that floor alone Oruha & Lolotte's room, Oruha & Lolotte's kid's room (SPOILER, yeah..they are planning on having one), two empty rooms (blue tone and earth tone) and the door to the Theater/Garage.
So, I am only going to be showing the furnished and semi-furnished rooms, as looking at empty ones would be boring. First up, the room of Ms.Mint and Ms.Woven Leaf (that is what Oruha means, again a Japanese name). For the sake of privacy and because Lolotte loved the view and soft green color, they took the room nearest the garage.
The colors alone should be a major clue as to the gender. Oruha and Lolotte are hoping for a little girl. The plan is for them to start going to a Clinic as soon as they are back from vacation. Yes, those are cuppy cake chairs!
Since there is nothing in the actual living room, straight to our band new kitchen! Given the price of the whole set there was a lot of flip flopping about what to do and when. Eventually I caved and shelled out for the first section, the rest followed from there. This is one of the most amazing kitchens we have ever had in SL. No, it doesn't give out a variety of foods (we have the Love Soul food mats and odds and ends from Feather for that) but rather it is jam packed with cute poses and acessories. From cooking to hanging out and couples poses, it blew us away and had to be ours. And yes, those are stepping stools. The Blachere girls are a bit on the short side after all! We still need a few more bits here and there and it will be finished!
Onto the redone bathroom! Just last night Lolotte and I (as Arima) were on and we were debating what to do with the spending money we had. We both agreed that the house needed more, since we really aren't the types to spend on ourselves unless there is nothing that we can think to get that would benefit everyone that comes by. So we went back and forth and eventually decided to start working on the bathroom. Everything from the old bathroom was tossed out for yet more from *Ambiance*. Given our obsession with function, yet again everything that is currently in (and is planned for) the bathroom does (and will). Right now we are missing the shower and the sink of the set.
The last furnished room would be Arima and Shinta's, not much to be said or shown of it since it has been seeing the background of a number of previously posted entries.
The M.Fox boxed set came as a much needed breath of fresh air for us and our home. Without it we would still be in design hell.
This post is long as hell, so breaking off to do a shorter post to sum up the outside of the house--as I am in the mood for foggy/grey pictures giving the weather outside in real life.
From the sounds to how the light falls on things in different settings, everything came together so nicely and feels perfect (and we are only making it better by the day).
While the inside of the house is still coming along, I think we are all pleased and content with how the outside turned out. So many lovely places to sit, together with someone or alone, all set to the drifting of oak and oel leaves while animals and bugs quietly hum and chirp.
When real life is cold and harsh at least second life is warm and inviting, even when I am depressed or self hating like earlier.
